Accessible Driver Appreciation Week

Accessible transportation helps people get to appointments, work, school, community activities and visiting the people who matter to them. During Accessible Driver Appreciation Week, VAD is recognizing the drivers who make those journeys possible with patience, respect and care.

A safe and welcoming ride can make a real difference. Drivers may support passengers by giving clear information, allowing time to board, listening to access instructions, securing mobility devices appropriately, and treating each person with dignity. Small actions can help a passenger feel respected and confident throughout the trip.

During this week, consider thanking an accessible transportation driver who has made a difference for you or someone you know. A kind word can recognize the important role drivers play in helping people stay connected to their communities.
